CREAM OF DEVON TOUR
Sunday, 4 October - Thursday, 8 October, 2020.
THE 3 STAR BEST WESTERN TIVERTON HOTEL is situated on the outskirts of Tiverton and has
69 bedroom with 30 on the ground floor of the two storey building, and we use this fabulous Hotel as our
base.
The hotel does not have a lift but all bedrooms allocated are on the ground or 1st floor and all have
tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing boards, free Wifi and are Twin or Double bedded rooms.
The Hotel has its own restaurant The Gallery and we are booked in for Full Breakfast and Evening Meal
with a choice of starters, followed by main course with choices, plus about 4 choices of delicious sweets
followed by tea or coffee.
SUNDAY - We travel via the motorway by one of our own Executive Coaches, with toilet, washroom.
A comfort stop will be made at a Services for 45 minutes and we arrive at our Hotel for late afternoon
and tea or coffee will be available, whilst the porters take our luggage to our rooms.
Evening Dinner is served in the Hotels Restaurant.
MONDAY - We depart, after breakfast on our day excursion travelling through the beautiful Devon
countryside and our first stop will be BUCKFAST ABBEY. Nestled in the shadow of Dartmoor, in a
beautiful wooded valley beside the River Dart, Buckfast Abbey offers visitors tranquil refuge from the
hectic pace of everyday life. The Abbey is a working monastery where a community of Benedictine
monks live self sufficiently, welcoming visitors from all around the world.
Our next stop will be TOTNES, an historic market town, sitting in the heart of Devon on the banks of
the River Dart, this unique town has a relaxed and charming atmosphere and offers an excellent range
of small independent retailers and unique shops.
Our third stop will be the seaside town of PAIGNTON one of the jewels of the English Riviera. It has a
long sandy beach, a pier, a green and plenty of shops, something for everyone.
TUESDAY - We depart for our day excursion travelling over DARTMOOR, which was one of the
first National Parks, watch out for the famous Dartmoor Ponies and the notorious Prison at Princetown.
From Dartmoor we drop down into PLYMOUTH and our first port of call is PLYMOUTH GIN
DISTILLERY. We are booked in for a tour of the distillery followed by a visit to the bar for a taster, you
can either drink it now, or take a minature bottle with you.
Next its time to explore THE BARBICAN where you will find shops, cafes and restaurants, or take a
sail and view the navel dockyards, or view the Mayflower Steps.
WEDNESDAY - We travel the short distance to KNIGHTSHAYES, which is a Victorian country
house with richly decorated interiors and a beautiful garden. You can tour the house at your own speed
then visit the gardens, they have a newly restored kitchen garden with fairy tale turrets.
Our next stop will be back at the Hotel, where we will be served a DEVONSHIRE CREAM TEA.
After our cream tea, we travel the short distance to the CATHEDRAL CITY OF EXETER. Visit the
Cathedral which is near where we drop you, and then you have the fabulous shops.
THURSDAY - Breakfast in the restaurant and we meet the coach to commence our journey home.
A stop will be made at a Services for 45 minutes and our driver will give arrival home times.
5 DAY TOUR: PRICE PER PERSON: £386.00 sharing Doubles and Twin Rooms.
SINGLE ROOM: We have 3 Single Rooms at NO EXTRA CHARGE.
When these have been sold, the Single Supplements will be + £92.00 and a Double or Twin Room
for Sole Use will be used.
Bookings can be made over the telephone when a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 per person must
be made to secure the booking.
Payment can be either by cheque or by credit card or cash at the office.
Full payment is required 6 weeks prior to departure date.
INSURANCE, it is advisable to take out your own insurance to cover for cancellations, leaflet
available from our office.
COACHES HAVE SEAT BELTS, TOILET, WASHROOM, AND ARE FITTED WITH
SPEED LIMITERS.

9.20 a.m. Layby Regent House, Heaton Lane, STOCKPORT
BURY and MIDDLETON will be a FEEDER COACH and will meet the MAIN COACH IN
OLDHAM.
