TUESDAY

We meet the coach, after breakfast for our day excursions first calling at  SCONE PALACE.

The Palace has an exciting and colourful history as one of Scotland’s most important stately homes.   It has been the seat of parliaments and the crowning place of Kings of Scotland.

It houses The Stone of Scone, also known as Stone of Destiny which was last used for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

Poised above the River Tay, Scone Palace overlooks north to the highlands with the Grampians as a backdrop.

You tour the Palace at your own speed and there are guides available in each room to answer any questions you might have about the Palace.

After you have explored the Palace, make a visit to the gardens, as they are as splendid as the Palace itself, look out for the Red Squirrels.

From here we travel through the Scottish Highlands to GLENTURRET WHISKEY DISTILLERY, home of the FAMOUS GROUSE WHISKEY and Scotland's oldest working distillery.   Watch how they traditionally mush by hand and cut by eye, which are vital components of the whiskey making process.

We are taken on a tour of the distillery to see how they create the distinctive spirit.

After your tour you will be able to sample two of their finest whiskeys.

Evening dinner in the Hotels Restaurant.

WEDNESDAY

We meet the coach after breakfast for our visit first of all to the famous FALKIRK WHEEL.   The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift which connects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal and is the only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world.    If you wish to take a ride on the Wheel you can buy tickets on arrival, it is not included in our price.   There is plenty to do at the Wheel and of course there is a shop and cafe.

From here we travel the short distance to THE KELPIES, which is the worl's largest equine sculpture.  We take a tour of these fabulous sculptures to hear the history, art and engineering behind Andy Scott's icons as well as being able to get the most unique view of the Kelpies FROM THE INSIDE.
